The manufacturer, which once was a reputation for the sportiness of its cars and its success in Rally racing, is now offering some of the best SUVs on the market, including the Eclipse Cross.

Mitsubishi was severely criticized for using the name of a legendary car for its new SUV. Little did we know back then, this was starting to become a new tendency. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is just another good example. And it is just one of the many trends that started around the concept of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. I will admit that even I thought the Eclipse Cross was kind of too futuristic when it first came out in 2017. However, today, Japanese SUVs not only fit the market, but it is also one of its best references.

Here are 5 reasons why you should get the 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross over the competition.

1 – S-AWC

There is a reason why Mitsubishi's all-wheel-drive system is called Super All-Wheel Control, and this is because it is one of the most advanced and fine-tuned systems on the market. Mitsubishi won several world championships in Rally, and this allowed the Japanese manufacturer to develop an intelligent all-wheel-drive system that has been adapted for its passenger vehicle, like the Eclipse Cross. Paired with the turbocharged 1.5 liters 4 cylinders and the CVT transmission, the S-AWC makes the Eclipse Cross one of the most exciting vehicles in its segment.

2 – 10 years/160 000 kilometers warranty

This is something that is applied to all Mitsubishi vehicles and one of the main reasons why the brand is so famous. Most manufacturer offers a mechanical warranty for 4/5 years and 80/100 000 kilometers. With the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, you are covered for 10 years or 160 000 kilometers.

3 – A lot of technologies

A heads-up display is something you can't get with the majority of the sub-compact SUV, but it is offered with the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which proves again how ahead of its time the Japanese SUV is. The 2023 Eclipse Cross also has one of the easiest-to-use infotainment systems, which is a big plus in this category.

4 – Spacious and practical

Although it is considered a sub-compact SUV, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross rivals compact SUVs in several categories, such as the towing capacity of 2 000 pounds and the cargo space available of up to 1 419 liters. The cabin is surprisingly roomier than what it looks like from the exterior.

5 – Everything except boring

I will agree with the fact that the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross design isn't for everybody, but for those who want something different that makes head turns, it is perfect. The Eclipse Cross inspired a lot of new vehicle designs. I continue to think the Japanese SUV was far ahead of its time, and it's now becoming a proper reference. The only thing I say is an excellent job on this one, Mitsubishi!
